Behind the scenes at the Courtyard by Marriott Miami Coral Gables: Vista Drone Cleaning's truck-mounted rig feeds water up the tether while the drone soft-washes the upper floors. Low-pressure soft wash, not high-pressure blasting.

What you are seeing

The truck-mounted rig, with its hose reels and tanks, sits at the curb beside the hotel while the drone works the upper floors above the palms. The hose climbing from the rig to the drone is the tether, which carries the water.

The rig filters the water (carbon, reverse osmosis, then deionization) before it goes up the tether, so the rinse dries without spots. It is a low-pressure soft wash throughout, not high-pressure blasting.

About this project

This footage was filmed at the Courtyard by Marriott Miami Coral Gables, a six-story, L-shaped hotel on S Le Jeune Rd. Vista Drone Cleaning soft-washed the facade on every elevation and cleaned every exterior window, roughly 60,000 sq ft, in 3 days on site, one elevation at a time, with the hotel open throughout: no lifts, no scaffolding and no rope access.

• Tethered soft-wash drone on the upper facade, water-fed poles at the lower levels.
• Every exterior window finished with deionized water, so it dries spot-free.
• About $0.13 per sq ft for the facade and every window.
• Flown under FAA Part 107 with $2M liability coverage.
• The hotel asked Vista back every year.
