What you are seeing

The drone tracking past the campus rotunda, whose curved wall meets the orthogonal slab behind it.

Curved and faceted geometry is awkward for rigged access because a stage drops in straight lines and has to be repositioned repeatedly around the radius. Flight paths follow the curve instead.

About this project

This footage was filmed at Belmont Village Coral Gables, an occupied senior-living high-rise developed in collaboration with Baptist Health South Florida. Vista Drone Cleaning cleaned more than 130,000 square feet of exterior (facade, windows, floor surfaces and the parapet) at $0.20 per square foot, all in, in seven days, with the building fully occupied throughout: no scaffolding, no swing stages, no rope access, no lifts, and no closed sidewalks, drop-off lanes, or entrances.

• Tethered soft-wash drone to 200 ft, plus a 70 ft water-fed pole from grade, about 18 stories.
• Heated sodium percarbonate (oxygen bleach), so no sodium hypochlorite, no chlorine odor and no plant kill at grade.
• Flown under FAA Part 107 with $2M liability insurance in force.
• Management asked Vista back on a semi-annual schedule, twice a year.
