Cleaning a curved facade: the drone past the rotunda tower

The rotunda is the landmark of the Belmont Village campus in Coral Gables: a curved wall set against the flat slab of the tower behind it. In this clip the drone tracks past it at working height.

What makes a rotunda different
Curved walls tend to soil unevenly. Runoff gathers and streaks on a curve instead of sheeting evenly, and the line where the curved wall meets the flat one collects dirt and growth. In South Florida humidity those streaks darken quickly and show from the street.
The drone needs nothing rigged to the roof, so its flight path can follow the radius of the wall at a steady distance, with the same low-pressure soft wash used on the rest of the facade. The joint between the rotunda and the tower is cleaned in the same visit, not as a separate setup.
Rotundas, towers and domes are often the parts of a building an owner cares about most, and the parts that cost the most to reach. Point them out at the site survey so the quote covers them from the start.

Curved and faceted geometry is awkward for rigged access because a stage drops in straight lines and has to be repositioned repeatedly around the radius. Flight paths follow the curve instead.
About this project
This footage was filmed at Belmont Village Coral Gables, an occupied senior-living high-rise.
