Why a cleaning drone is tethered
A drone cannot carry enough water to wash a building. The tether solves that. It runs from the truck rig at the curb up to the drone, so filtered, heated water and cleaning solution arrive continuously and the aircraft never lands to refill.
The rig on the ground does the heavy work: filtering the water, heating it and mixing in the solution. The drone's job is to put that water exactly where it is needed, at low pressure and at a steady distance from the wall, on facades, windows and other surfaces that are hard to reach from the ground.
The drone is registered with the FAA, broadcasts Remote ID, and is flown under Part 107 by a certificated remote pilot. If you are comparing contractors, ask which drone they fly and how it gets its water. The answer tells you a lot about how the job will run.

The tether carries water, not power. The aircraft runs on batteries at roughly 19 minutes per set and is hot-swapped on the ground, so the water supply is continuous while battery sets rotate.
About this project
This footage was filmed at Belmont Village Coral Gables, an occupied senior-living high-rise. Vista Drone Cleaning cleaned more than 130,000 square feet of exterior (facade, windows, floor surfaces and the parapet) at $0.20 per square foot, all in, in seven days, with no scaffolding, swing stages, rope access or lifts and no closures.
