In this short clip the drone repositions to the facade line of Belmont Village in Coral Gables. On the sidewalk below are the ground crew, the hose and the traffic cones. That ground setup is as much a part of a drone cleaning job as the aircraft.

What a compliant drone cleaning job looks like

Commercial drone work in the United States runs under the FAA's Part 107 rules. The pilot holds a Part 107 remote pilot certificate, and controlled airspace needs a LAANC authorization before the flight. The drone itself is registered with the FAA and broadcasts Remote ID. Part 107 also restricts flying over people, which is why the crew cones off a clear zone under the work.

Insurance is the other half. We carry $2M liability with Kinsale plus a dedicated drone policy, and workers' compensation for the crew.

Before you sign with any drone cleaning company, ask for three things: the remote pilot certificate of whoever will fly your building, a certificate of insurance that shows a drone policy, and a plan for keeping people out from under the drone. A contractor who cannot produce all three is not ready to fly at your property.

Every flight on this campus ran under FAA Part 107 with LAANC airspace authorization where required, flown by a certificated remote pilot with the crew on the ground and $2M liability in force.

About this project

This footage was filmed at Belmont Village Coral Gables, an occupied senior-living high-rise. Vista Drone Cleaning cleaned more than 130,000 square feet of exterior (facade, windows, floor surfaces and the parapet) at $0.20 per square foot, all in, in seven days, with no scaffolding, swing stages, rope access or lifts and no closures.
