Living green walls are planted panels fixed to the face of a building, usually with their own irrigation. This clip shows the drone soft-washing the facade right beside the green wall at Belmont Village in Coral Gables.

What a green wall changes about the wash
The wall around a planted panel soils faster than the rest of the building. Irrigation overspray and moisture from the planting keep the surface damp, and in South Florida heat that grows algae and mildew, while soil and mineral streaks run down from the panels.
Pressure was never the problem on this elevation. Chemistry was. Chlorine bleach beside live planting can burn the foliage, so the choice of solution and where the runoff goes matter more here than how hard the water hits. The drone holds a steady distance and works at low pressure, and the rinse is purified water.
If your building has a green wall, tell us before the site survey and bring in whoever maintains the planting. We plan the chemistry, the spray direction and the rinse around it, so the facade gets clean and the plants are left as they were.

About this project
This footage was filmed at Belmont Village Coral Gables, an occupied senior-living high-rise.
