Vista Drone Cleaning's tethered drone soft-washing the wall around the Courtyard by Marriott sign at the Courtyard by Marriott Miami Coral Gables, a six-story hotel that stayed open the whole time. FAA Part 107 certified and $2M insured.

What you are seeing

The drone holds just below the roofline and works its spray across the wall beside the hotel's sign. The dark line hanging below it is the tether, which carries water up from the truck rig on the ground, not power.

The sign wall rises straight above the hotel entrance, where guests arrive all day. Washing it from the air meant no lift parked in the entrance drive.

About this project

This footage was filmed at the Courtyard by Marriott Miami Coral Gables, a six-story, L-shaped hotel on S Le Jeune Rd. Vista Drone Cleaning soft-washed the facade on every elevation and cleaned every exterior window, roughly 60,000 sq ft, in 3 days on site, one elevation at a time, with the hotel open throughout: no lifts, no scaffolding and no rope access.

• Tethered soft-wash drone on the upper facade, water-fed poles at the lower levels.
• Every exterior window finished with deionized water, so it dries spot-free.
• About $0.13 per sq ft for the facade and every window.
• Flown under FAA Part 107 with $2M liability coverage.
• The hotel asked Vista back every year.
