What you are seeing

The drone tracks through the gap between two towers of the Belmont Village campus, holding position against the channeled wind that funnels between slabs. The dark line trailing below it is the tether, which carries water up from the ground rig, not power.

Flying between towers is the case that rules out swing stages: a stage has to be rigged from one roof and cannot easily service the returns and reveals facing the opposite slab. The drone treats both faces in one pass.

About this project

This footage was filmed at Belmont Village Coral Gables, an occupied senior-living high-rise developed in collaboration with Baptist Health South Florida. Vista Drone Cleaning cleaned more than 130,000 square feet of exterior (facade, windows, floor surfaces and the parapet) at $0.20 per square foot, all in, in seven days, with the building fully occupied throughout: no scaffolding, no swing stages, no rope access, no lifts, and no closed sidewalks, drop-off lanes, or entrances.

• Tethered soft-wash drone to 200 ft, plus a 70 ft water-fed pole from grade, about 18 stories.
• Heated sodium percarbonate (oxygen bleach), so no sodium hypochlorite, no chlorine odor and no plant kill at grade.
• Flown under FAA Part 107 with $2M liability insurance in force.
• Management asked Vista back on a semi-annual schedule, twice a year.
